Roses also symbolise martyrdom and refers to Jesus Christ for his sacrifice on the cross to the people and the bloodshed by the martyrs. It divinely signifies the gentle but yet immense incomparable love God has for humanity.

3 Good Reasons to Digital Scrapbook

Lately there has been more and more attention drawn to digitally scrapbooking instead of scrapbooking the traditional way. There are many reasons why you might want to swap over, if you haven't already, here are 3.

1. Time - If you've ever scrapbooked, you know there is some time involved. First, you have to edit and print your pictures. Once they're printed, you have to find and purchase the products youll use on your scrapbook pages. That can take some time, although, many of us quite enjoy this part! Next, you have to set everything out, design your pages, cut, glue, print, measure, tape and the list goes on and on. Then, you get to clean it all up! And if youre like most people, you may only have a couple hours, here and there, to work on it, and you most likely dont have a room dedicated to scrapbooking. So, that means that out of that little time slot, you spend a lot of time setting, and cleaning up.

Now, let's compare that to digital scrapbooking! You hop on your computer, surf the web for products you want to use and purchase, and immediately have them in your possession through downloads! Next, you add them into your digital scrapbooking program, and you're ready to go. You add you're pictures as you need them, so no need to edit and print before hand! And when you're done, you walk away from the computer! You're clean up time goes from minutes, to a couple seconds! Now that small time slot you had to scrapbook has been used to the max!

2. Convenience - Take a second and think back to the last time you scrapbooked the traditional way. Were you sitting at a table covered in products? Plus I'm sure there was a box of photos and countless supplies included in that mess. I would always get so consumed by the mess; I had a really hard time being creative!

"I hate it!" "What was I thinking?" So, I would throw it out, and start over. I couldn't commit on a theme for a page, let alone an entire scrapbook. Every day I would change my mind, and more money would end up in the trash. So, I started creating my layouts on my computer to save me time and money. I found I liked it a lot better, because if I came back a couple days later and hated it, I could hit delete and be out nothing, except my time. Then I began comparing the cost of having a scrapbook published vs. creating a traditional scrapbook. Here is a brief rundown of my findings:

Traditional (20 page album) $0.50 in photo prints (that's an average of $0.17 per picture and 3 pictures per page) $5 in sheet protectors (a box of 20 costs $10, and youd only use 10 protectors) $15 photo album (that's really good " most cost around $25-$30) $0.60 per background page (once again, that's really good, most cost more) $1.50 in embellishments & extra paper for framing photos (some pages more, some pages less) Average of $72 per album (stamps, glue, adhesives, cutters, scissors, punches... and mistakes not included!)

Digital (20 page album published in a hard bound 12x12 book) $7 (Optional purchase of digital scrapbooking products online) $44.00 for book publishing (Quote taken from Shutterfly.com on June 12, 2009) $11.99 Shipping & Handling Average of $62.99 per album. So, as you can see, traditional scrapbooking costs more. And those prices are very low. Most products cost a lot more than what I quoted.

In planning for a foodie festival, the usual steps in taking a course of action for the planned event should be the same with everything else: a step by step procedure. not to mention that there should be a leader of some sort in order for the whole event to pass off without a hitch or a hassle.

Employ a general manager to over see everything regarding the festival. Involvements, finances, problems and solutions should all be known by the manager and should be seen and intervened. The manager, manages all the elements of the festival, so no detail must be left behind, or anything else mustn't surprise him.

The manager should make sure to identify and know the demographics and the target market he or she is planning to take up. Will it be mostly men or women? Younger or older by age? The manager should also make sure to check first, whether the community wants a festival or not. Talk about scandal if the money will be used for something the town wouldn't agree on.

The manager should secure the venue, do the necessary paper works and guarantee it before anything else. After the approval of the event, he is tasked to do his job of securing everything for the workers to start doing their thing. Programming is also a priority for the manager, as the list of line ups should be satisfying for the large demographic the festival may not cater to.

Budget management should not only limit themselves to handling the funding already present in the community box, but also on the auctions, bids, and income that goes in with the festival. Large companies would usually bid for commercial space or some tables or booths. Other small enterprises in the area would also do the same for publicity. When you are considering going on that road to selling your crafts at a crafts fair, understand that you are taking a big step forward. Along with the associated risks, and challenges that are involved with this step. There are a lot of things to consider first, in order to systematically sell stuff, categorizes and put all things in proper order, and to mentally prepare yourself for this undertaking. Selling stuff is no easy walk in the park kiddies.

Firstly, immerse yourself in crafts fairs around your locality and even in other places. There will come a time that you will have to move your market and discover new ones and other niches as well. Attend a few fairs and see for yourself, first hand, what is happening inside.

See both juried and non-juried shows, watch how judges rate crafts, see the quality you need to reach in order to deem your craft customer-quality passed. Find out which venue is also most suited for your craft, whether indoors, a fair, or a show or even a booth. Check the pamphlet provided to see the specifications of the fair, so you wouldn't get confused later on when you make big decisions.

Do your research. Find out what the common costs are, what additional costs you might incur, your projected income, actual income from other vendors (if they are willing to disclose it), and profitability margin. Each show and craft fair will charge differently, with the normal ones usually being around 200 dollars to 300 dollars; the more expensive and exclusive ones could reach up to 500 or more. Of course, this comes with more benefits that the people that engage in these types of shows actually are willing to buy more and spend more.

Don't forget to tabulate your material costs, labor costs, permits and licenses needed, and how many of your products are you going to bring to the craft fair (because seriously, you weren't thinking of bringing them all now, would you?)

What Should We Know About Art?...

Art today covers so many things. The choices that you have are endless, so there is something to suit everybody's taste. So much we can learn about it from looking at the Masters. However, you can appreciate art even if you are a beginner to it all.

As a race the Chinese and Japanese generally use black and white to express themselves. Very cleverly they use brushes for both their writings and their drawings. Brushes, in fact, made of hair with a very fine point, ideal for their delicate work, with a bamboo handle.

It is usual for the brushes to have handles of bamboo and I would imagine these go back to the paintings of Zen. They seem to sometimes paint with these long painted brushes with a very delicate stroke, sometimes in ink over a slight wash.

The long fine brushes they use seem to create lovely flowing works of art which appear so true to form and give out the freedom of movement. Naturally this works well on silk. The trees and waters are expressed well like this.

Expressionism as we know it is not necessarily a true representational art form. Really I would go as far as to say, it is how you express your inner feelings on a given subject emotionally.

Let us use the famous painter Van Gogh as an example. To the normal person much of his work appears to be totally distorted. The weird shapes and forms created turned into natural genius!

Impressionism is the Monet type of painting. Here you have very short dashes that bring together the painting when they are close together. Especially if you stand well back to look at them.

These really are appreciated the world over. His interesting floral and water scenes are a typical example and where the light actually reflects on the painting. Interestingly enough they appear as a series of dots and dashes which then appear to join up. This style of painting is Impressionism which heralds from the 19th Century.

Let us consider Still Life paintings now. Are they easily achievable? I think not. They appear so easy on the eye. Probably because we all recognize the typical types of subjects that are used for this. How often do we stop and think how talented artists are?

Simple items are not always easy to reproduce and you need a good backdrop for this type of work. I think that this dates back to about the 17th century and the famous Dutch Masters. How fantastic some of these artists from a bygone age were, and so forward thinking.

Now to the regular night-time scenes found in gay Paris created by the likes of Toulouse-Lautrec. How he loved all this and brought the subjects all to life for us and into our homes as posters etc. showing the bawdy lifestyle of the local artists and burlesque in the dance halls.

Even Monet did some amazing humorous sketches often of his friends yet still created such fantastic luminous colourful scenes. They were always so lovely and bright.

So many wonderful artists, too many to mention, Constable, J.W.Turner, Renoir, and Picasso, and what a talent Salvador Dali.

One of my favourites happens to be Salvador Dali. His work appeared to know no bounds. He surely is one of the greatest painters ever known. Barcelona is fortunate to have so many examples for the general public to savour.

With the credit crunch as it is, more and more people will be turning towards home crafts. So, with this in view, I have written the following article on making frames for your pictures, family photos etc. Usually, the clip frames you can buy are the cheapest option, but often you would prefer to have a framed edge.

So folks, join me and have a go! If you can do one, you can go on to make more, and just look at the satisfaction this could bring you.

These would make suitable gifts for any age group and they are likely to be well received. To make them, you do not need many items. So there is not much money to lay out and later on you could work the same idea for other sizes.

What tools will you actually need? First of all, go out and buy yourself a quantity of ordinary, plain, wooden pegs. On top of this you will require some Rekar glue, a No. 10 paintbrush, a sheet of acetate, your picture, some acrylic silk paint and I leave the choice of colour to you. The final item is a piece of wood, hardboard is okay, 20.5cm x 21.5cm.

Gather your stuff together and find a nice flat surface to work from. Then pick up your wood and place your picture where you want it, so that it is in the centre. Of course, this picture has to be chosen with care for the size of the frame. You may have to cover some up or remove some of it. Next, use a pencil to make a small dot on your outside four corners of the picture. Now you can glue your picture to the board.

Your acetate sheet now is put on top of the picture, so now you can reach for the pegs. Have a trial run with one peg first. Hold one both sides at the top and pull the sides in opposite directions. This should pull the peg apart and lets you remove the spring. Throw away the spring.

You will require a fair few pegs to go all around your frame three times, so keep at it! The pegs have to go down the outsides of the sides first, commencing from the top and moving down with the flat edge to the wood. The long thin section of the peg touching the top edge. You may need three or four pegs to one side.

We now move to the centre row of pegs and the pattern formation. Starting this time with the thick, gripping part of the peg, touching the top, still with the flat side down. The final inside row is done exactly the same way as the first row. Once you have the pattern complete and copied on the right side, it is time to stick them carefully in position. I do stress, not all pegs are always a uniform size, so it could be you have to cut them to fit the wood. Personally, I would leave it to dry with an object of weight on it.

If this has then dried, we now are left with the top and the bottom to fill in. Go to the very bottom and begin from the left, using the uneven edge upwards and the bulky part next to your side edge. Then your second row will use the long thin sloping edge first, followed by the final row the same as the first.

The placing for the top edge will be the same, so when you have this under control, glue with Rekar. When your frame is dry you can dress it up by adding a coat of acrylic silk paint. This will dry very fast . If you are so inclined, you can then add a few dried flowers to the sides or the bottom with your glue.

This would look better if you painted the sides of your frame. If you stuck about 4 parts of the wooden peg together, you could let the thick end touch the wood and go along with your paintbrush.

Should you have encountered problems with your painting, glazing may be the answer. Often a particular section of your work may seem pretty lifeless - for example it may be that it looks flat and the brightness and the glow does not seem to shine through.

Where did the problem originate from. I probably got carried away with the turpentine used as a medium and ,in my eyes, ruined it. We all know this feeling, but it is probably far more likely it was just a bad day for me all round. So it all went wrong.

Most artists would consider this a crucial part of their work. It definitely seems to give your work a lift. The glazing part has so many uses as the majority of people have come to realize over the years.

So you need to bring your painting to life. Do not underestimate the value this process can give to your work. This can provide the ultimate glow you require for landscapes, skies, water, trees, mountains etc. You will find it brings out hidden depths. It will also serve on certain sections or just bring your whole piece together to it's conclusion.

We have all experienced glass and the way the sun filters through it. Well this is what the effects of glazing are like. It can produce a chilled effect or bring added warmth. All it is, in fact, is when your first layer of paint is dry, adding another thin film of color on top.

Always make sure that the color you put on the top is a transparent shade and I would expect that you could encounter trouble with the colors mixing together if you have not ensured your undercoat was not still wet.

So really this is a very important adage to your work. It can combine your whole painting to its eventual conclusion, creating harmony and obviously give added strength. Sometimes I use it to bring about spaces, and even distance.

At first you may find it hard to achieve great results. It is a learning curve through trial and tribulation. Basically what you will find is, what and where do I do this? Only by trying colours will you find out.

So now you have reached the experimental stage. For instance try a warmer colour over a paler shade. Like a strong violet over a pale yellow, or a dark green over yellow. I find it inspirational the strength of colour that can be produced.

There are certain rules to remember when you glaze. An absolute must is to not mix any white paint with the color you wish to glaze with. If you only use oil with it you can go about it by stroking it on gently.

You can also go over your work with a layer of gel, sometimes I resort to this method. I find that I like very bright, strong colors. Red being one of my total favorites, so I find I am quite happy to put one very strong red over another. Just look in your palettes and have a go. You can get terrific effects!

They are the rare act that comes along a few times in a generation that is destined to shake things up, rewrite the rules and become the new musical trendsetters.

The public has certainly noticed. The Dixie Chicks' first Monument album Wide Open Spaces has become the biggest selling album ever by a country duo or group - racking up some 6 million sales by the time their second album, Fly, was completed. The tremendous sales only demonstrates that while the Dixie Chicks have established themselves as a true country music act, they have also won over audiences outside the country genre. In a music field routinely known for selling to the conservative 30 and over crowd, more than 60% of the Dixie Chicks sales have been to consumers under the age of 25. Their concert audience is as likely to be comprised of entire rows of young women in their early teens and twenties as it is to include middle age couples and entire families complete with pre-teen girls dressed like their musical idols and singing every Dixie Chicks' song word for word.

The press has certainly noticed. Publications from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly and People to Harper's Bazaar, In Style, Seventeen and TV Guide have documented how the Dixie Chicks are bending the music world to their will and making country music more 'hip' than ever. With the wrap-up of 1998, numerous national publications named them the "Breakout Act of the Year" and recognized Wide Open Spaces as one of the "Best Of" albums of the year. USA Today credited the Chicks with single-handedly returning the banjo to country radio and Rolling Stone summed it up when they called them "the badass queenpins of country." At a time when much of the press on country music has lamented the 'sameness' of the sound and the artists, no less than the Los Angeles Times conceded that "the Dixie Chicks are the perfect antidote."

The music industry has certainly noticed. The Dixie Chicks' fellow musicians and industry peers, in particular, have overwhelmingly acknowledged their contribution. In a year's time, they have been honored with two Grammy Awards (Best Country Album and Best Country Vocal Performance Duo/Group), two Country Music Association Awards (Group of the Year and the Horizon Award), plus three Academy of Country Music Awards (including Album of the Year), one American Music Award and two TNN Music Awards. On Nashville's Music Row, where the unspoken business strategy often seems to be "if we can make it work once, we can beat it to death," the music industry has obviously been taking notes. It's likely not a coincidence that almost every record label in Nashville has signed a female trio since the Dixie Chicks exploded on to the scene. So there comes a time in your mid-life crisis when you start questioning what your life is all about and where you are heading onwards. Did you do everything you have to do in this time of life? Are you enjoying every single day like it will be your last? Can you honestly say that you are satisfied and fulfilled with what your current career has to offer?

Millions of people would probably answer no. And it is not as if they can be picky about it. With the current depression and the broken economy, more people are actually being laid-off from their jobs.

With this kind of atmosphere, the best thing to probably do is to find ways to make money. and not the type where you have to be in a a successful career to earn loads of moolah. And that's where selling at shows come into the picture.

One, deduce that you are serious in this life-changing decision. If you have a family, talk it over with the persons that matter and would be affected by this decision. In any case, they could help you with this big project. Just make sure that you at least get their support in any case. Having your family's support is a good way to jump start.

Two, profitability is key. I'm sure that you would have a few good hobbies you indulge in. Think of the first one that you assume would rake in good money, EVEN if it isn't as much as enjoyable as the first one. Do research on the topic, how to improve your craft to consumer-levels, etc. A rule of thumb is to at least have a good amount of capital before indulging in your wants rather than your needs.

Three, research on the shows you would be joining. As much as possible, start with non-juried shows so you can get a good feel of when your work makes the cut for consumers or not. When you feel confident, go with juried shows. Gain experience, gain exposure, and I am pretty sure you will succeed.

And again, do not rush into things. Shift when you have good financial backing, when you have pension, or when you have an auxiliary income to depend on when things don't work out. You cannot expect things to go all flowers and rainbows at the first, second, or even third try. But what matters is your creativity, your initiative, and the will to go on despite failures at first.

Develop the mentality of being strong and believe in your work. A quality of successful entrepreneurs is their aggressiveness and their strong willpower. Temper your mind to not falter despite the onslaught of challenges you will face in this new lease on life.

Perhaps of the main reason why people buy things in craft shows is because they are tourists in the area, and they want to have a physical object that will make them remember the place they went to once they're back home. As such, it is a good idea for any craftsperson to check his or her location, and let himself or herself be influenced by the culture of the place. If you attend craft shows and you grew up in the area, this wouldn't be too much of a problem. But what if you are a visitor here, too?

People who don't hail from the area where the craft show is held will definitely have a problem trying to get an affinity with the culture of the place. This is a surmountable problem, though, for the affinity can be developed over time. Buy and study the works of your fellow craftspeople attending the event, and try to make friends with them while you're at it. Having a good and friendly relationship with some of them will rub off on you, and you ay start to understand their cultural influences over time.

Simply mingling with the people won't do the trick, of course. Expeand your understanding of the culture further by spending some time in it. Don't barricade yourself in the craft show for the duration of your stay, and instead explore the place in its entirety. Have a short break, and look around for interesting things that you can do there. You'll be surprised at how quickly you'll discover a thing or two.

When everything has been said and done, you'll have to go "back to the lab" and try to integrate their culture with your own unique signature. Don't try to lose your identity in the process! Let your techniques be influenced, but don't try to outright copy the feel of the crafts that came from that culture.

In the end, it is important that you don't force anything. Don't be too alarmed if your piece ends up without the feel that you wanted it to have for that culture; if you bash the culture in, you'll end up destroying both that and your personal touch. To me, the soul of an item is important, and you just can't have a soul of the object itself is forced.

That presents his character as being a sane and tactical commander of his force.

On watching Transformers 2, you may find him very aggressive and destructive, but the fact is he has always been rational in all his actions. He is not going to be muddled in this movie.

An interesting thing that viewers will see in this movie will be the pride and honour Megatron shows to his enemy's leader. He has always been like this, and also he carries this quality with his arrogant personality very elegantly. Megatron wants to finish his enemy with his own hands. This is the reason that he never lets anything else harm his enemy except himself.

Megatron could revolutionize himself into a Walther P38 in the inauguration. That betters his aptitude to hit his rival at the accurate point. He also had an ability to resize himself according to his situation. Maybe we can watch this amusing trick in the approaching movie additionally an added weapon that can be used by Megatron is a container placed in his back. In addition, he has got ability to fire from his body parts like eyes, head, and hands.

Nevertheless Megatron has the whole thing to perfection; still we cannot warranty his success in the battlefield.
